Over the years, I have written a great deal about climate change, contaminated land, environmental protection, biodiversity and related issues, usually for expert readers who work in business or government. My employers have included ENDS, Edie and Thomson. Freelance clients have included BP, The Department for Environment, Food and Rural affairs (Defra) and Woolwich Building Society. I have also written for lay readers, with pieces published by The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The London Evening Standard and Time Out.
My academic research currently focuses on the history of the British organic food and farming movement, specifically the career of Lady Eve Balfour, founder of the Soil Association. I do some undergraduate teaching for the department of history at Aberystwyth University.
