CASE STUDIES

Different clients have different requirements. Beyond a simple web site showing 'What We Do' a whole host of web technologies can be deployed to increase the experieince of using a site:

Minihome Nursery

A nursery based in North London, this site uses many Web 2.0 resources to manage communications with the users of the nursery:

¤ A skinned Wordpress blog let's parents discuss child rearing and the nursery in an environment where membership is regulated but use is then unmoderated;

¤ Use of the micro-blogging service Twitter enables Minihome to text content directly onto the site. Particulalry useful for a non-technical client to provide information about opening times in recent snow;

¤ Googlemap - whilst providing a scalable and searchable map solution to enable their clients to find them, Minihome is also registered with Google Business improving their visibiltiy to Google searches;

¤ Google calendar - another simple solution to keeping customers uptodate, a simple web interface lets the client maintain a site based calendar for events and appointments.

Elspeth Thompson

A writer on gardening and greener living, Elspeth wanted a site that showed her comprehensive back catalogue of written work for UK national papers as well as a place to promote her many books:

¤ Using a selection of photographs we were able to piece togther a site that reflected the lifestyle elements of her work to provide an attractive basis for viewers to explore Elspeth's interests;

¤ a Wordpress blog was skinned (styled to match her website) so that Elspeth could develop a regular online presence she could manage herself;

¤ Her many articles were hidden on the site using javascript driven Spry technology - here;

¤ An Amazon account was opened to monetise links from her site to purchase books.

Mountainwise

Site built in conjunction with graphic designer Jon Knight.

¤ A flickr gallery was created to allow the client to show pictures of Mountainwise's work. The simple flickr interface allows teh client to manage the gallery's content themselves.

¤ print friendly documentation has been converted in PDFs.
